We encourage our residents to engage, enjoy, express, and live as full, independent and active a life as possible with us. Our dedicated activity coordinators and social care practitioners develop an extensive weekly calendar of activities, based on residents’ expressed preferences, and tailored to individual needs. Our long term residents make Lakes their new home-from-home when they are no longer able to live alone, either through illness or disability.
All residents’ care details and requirements are on the system, accessible on our computers, and on each carer’s individual tablet. The nursing staff are superbly led by Matron , Helen , who I believe has been working at Lakeside for almost 20 years. Unlike some nursing homes that we visited which seemed to have a cold and austere atmosphere, inside Lakeside House all is warm and welcoming. Indeed the welcome that visitors receive from Amanda at reception is most up-lifting. Without making this unduly lengthy I apologise to those wonderful staff that I have got to know and are not mentioned by name but thank you all for your kindnesses when we visit.
